DEMYSTIFYIING STREP SYMPTOMS
First, let’s dissect the symptoms commonly attributed to strep throat—swollen lymph nodes, sore throat, fever, increased swelling, heat, redness, pain, and loss of appetite.
These are not mere microbial problems; they signal the body’s proactive response to eliminate accumulated toxins.
In a world dominated by conventional models of antibiotic use, it’s crucial to rethink our approach to health, especially when it comes to conditions like strep throat but really any acute sickness or a better put, expressions of health.
These symptoms are not bad. They are innate expressions of a body adapting and disposing waste from the body.
So here are the steps to supporting these expressions of the body if and when they come up for you or your child.

THE HEALING PROCESS
- Fever and Heat: The body’s natural distillation process, liquefying the cellular matrix to expel contaminants through all our elimination pathways, especially sweat in the case of fever. Think of it like a gentle distillation process happening in your body. The impurities are distilled out.
- Pain: A sign of tissues expanding and proliferating to handle the burden, then they are broken down and repaired back up during the deep restoration phase.
- Swollen Lymph Nodes: Indicative of the body addressing backed-up sewage. Think of lymph nodes as little garbage dumps. What happens when your garbage overfills? You need to pack it up, clean it, microbes break the trash down further and then it gets shipped out to be eliminated. Without microbes your trash would never properly decompose.
- Loss of Appetite: This occurs as the body focuses most of its energy to the rigorous cleanup. This process is a stressful one, cortisol is higher and appetite gets suppressed. The body has bigger fish to fry than you eating.
SUPPORT HEALING NATURALLY
Treating the wrong things will lead to recurring symptoms. This is not a microbial problem as we’ve covered extensively in the first videos of the Strep Series.
As highlighted, antibiotics do not solve this problem and in fact cause other problems over time. There are long term health impacts of using these drugs that aren’t undone so easily. (1)
As a reminder, the current National Institute of Health Clinical Guidelines state:
“There is evidence from randomized placebo-controlled trials (RCTs) that antibiotics have limited efficacy in treating a large proportion of RTIs in adults and children. These include acute otitis media [ear infections] acute cough/acute bronchitis, acute sore throat/acute pharyngitis/acute tonsillitis, acute rhinosinusitis [sinus infections] and the common cold. These conditions are largely self-limiting and complications are likely to be rare if antibiotics are withheld.” (2)
However, the issue is that what the research shows and what the guidelines reflect are not what we see in clinical practice most often.
Also add that simply wanting an “alternative” to a drug won’t cut it. You can find an entire list of “alternatives” to antibiotics such as garlic, echinacea, oregano, clove, turmeric, olive leaf, goldenseal, grape seed extract or honey.
While these herbals and compounds are helpful they are not antibiotics. They are supportive to the entire system to help the fluids move or even provide nourishment. (3)
Learning a list of “natural alternatives” or “natural antibiotics” is a disservice to most because if we use those so-called alternatives and the symptoms don’t resolve, we end up taking antibiotics out of fear.
Now if you do partake in those drugs and successfully poison the microbes (and yourself) where will that waste go? How will that waste get further bio-transformed without the healthy microbe? It can’t. Yeast will proliferate to help solve the crisis. Then people blame the yeast and candida repeating the same vicious cycle.
MOVE YOUR LYMPH
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is designed to stimulate lymphatic flow. Use gentle, rhythmic motions to encourage the movement of lymph. Start at the collar bones, then the tonsils, then ears, then the face, back towards the neck and don’t forget the base of the head. Use short movements, tapping and vibration to stimulate movement.
Check out this short video demonstration to see how it’s done.
You can also use a natural cream or oil such as castor oil which will penetrate into the skin to further stimulation.
Deep breathing exercises can help improve lymphatic flow by increasing pressure in the chest and promoting circulation. Focus on deep, diaphragmatic breathing.
You can also do dry brushing.
Use a soft, natural bristle brush to gently stroke the skin in the direction of lymphatic flow. The pressure should be very light and short strokes.
GARGLING
Gargling is also a way to actively move lymph and toxicants in the tonsils. It also supports that vagus nerve to stimulate that parasympathetic activity.
Dissolve up to 4 teaspoons of sea salt in 4 cups of pure water gargle with it throughout the day. Gargle with the solution for about 30 seconds, ensuring that you reach the back of your throat. Spit out the solution and avoid swallowing it.
OPENING ELIMINATION PATHWAYS
Don’t just move lymph without opening up your final elimination pathway like your skin and colon pathways. Moving lymph but having nowhere for it to leave the body is a big mistake.
The body has only a few ways to completely unload the mobilized waste that it is trying to bio-transform to make it less damaging.
We want to open skin and colon pathways, the 2 main elimination methods.
Herbal or coffee enemas are great here, even 2-3 a day for a temporary period. We have a whole free playlist on enemas on YouTube and a 5$ comprehensive guidebook on how to do them properly.
They must be done well and with care. If bowels are packed up, head, neck and face will not drain well.
Saunas can be very helpful if the individual has the energy, not dehydrated and is not in an active fever state.
It’s critical not to wait until this type of purge is forced upon you. As we all know it’s very uncomfortable and painful.
It’s best to do these supportive therapies periodically and when the body starts whispering that it’s time for an upcoming trash haul. You’ll know when it’s coming if you’re paying attention.
FASTING & HYDRATION
Respond to the body’s reduced appetite with simple hydration and electric foods like fruit (whole fruit, smoothies or 100% juices). 12 ounces of juice every hour or so if possible.
Getting plenty of good quality Celtic sea salt, especially if in a fever state. 1 teaspoon or more may be needed. Less for kids.
Drinking plenty of water and soothing, warm fluids like herbal teas, broths, and warm water with good quality honey. You absolutely do not want to force the body to eat a big meal or processed foods. Keep things simple, easy to digest or simply fast on fluids.
If a fever is very high for a long period and you’ve been sweating profusely for hours, a simple saline IV may be helpful. They now have mobile in-home IV services in many cities. You can also use a simple mineral enema in that case to hydrate via the colon.
For a mineral enema mix 4 cups of warm distilled water with 2 teaspoons of quality sea salt. This makes about 0.7% saline solution. Do not use epsom salts.
PRIORITIZE SLEEP & REST
The body conducts its best drainage during sleep so do not neglect this. You’ll find that you’re more prone to being sick when you neglect sleep, stay up late or have a disturbed sleep schedule.
Don’t force the body to work or keep commitments if and when you are in an active purge state. It’s time to rest and sleep.
HERBALS & SUPPLEMENTS
People who are used to relying on pharmaceuticals will look for a supplement or herb to “work” for the issue. Plant medicines help charge the cells assisting momentum of the drainage but if you wait too long, a supplement or an herb is not going to solve a massive cleanup problem in a couple days. You must do the real work.
Plant medicines support the body’s electrical charge and movement but aren’t a quick fix for neglected health.
Animals in the wild will also consume some plant fibers and herbs instinctively as well. Support like garlic, oregano, clove, echinacea and others are fine to rely on, but not for the purpose of killing microbes.
Generally it’s not recommended to do heavy herbal protocols or internal use of essential oils in these times as it can create more mobilization of waste out of tissues when the body is already processing a lot and needs to eliminate first.
- Less is more. A little herbal support goes a long way and doesn’t mobilize too much at once.
- The priority should be placed on eliminative therapies as already discussed.
- Combination tinctures such as Dr. Morse Lymph, Kidney and Liver herbals are helpful.
- It’s also a good idea to take things to support the bowels like Dr. Morse GI Renew and GI Broom so colon pathway is moving.

IS A FEVER DANGEROUS?
Fevers should be discussed as many people are still under the impression that fevers can be dangerous. Fevers are not dangerous. Not even higher ones.
To dispel fever fear read this article here.
CONCLUSION & KEY POINTS
- Stopping the body’s natural healing process with anti-inflammatory drugs or antibiotics may provide temporary relief but postpones the inevitable.
- Ignoring the body’s signals leads to severe consequences, such as cancers or cysts as that waste never gets disposed of properly so the body has to contain it.
- Listening to your body’s signals and giving it what it needs to heal. Such as moving your lymph, opening pathways, hydration, sleep and using gentle herbs.
- With any sore throat; gargling is a active way to move lymph and to stimulate the parasympathetic system.
- Do not suppress the helpful fever.
